Oliwia & Jose
Intime Verlobungssession in einem Schweizer Luxushotel
As Patricia Love once said, “The deepest moments of intimacy occur when you’re not talking.” That belief guided Oliwia and José to choose an intimate engagement session at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, a timeless luxury hotel in the heart of Basel, on a luminous early spring weekend.
Working with a fine art, documentary approach, I aimed to capture their true emotions with quiet elegance and restrained style. Analogue and digital formats blended to preserve both the grain and the clarity of each moment — the soft morning light, the subtle gestures, the charged silences that say more than words.
A talented team made the vision inevitable: Daniela Thiele’s make-up enhanced Oliwia’s natural radiance, Patrizia Nicosia’s stationery lent refined detail, Julie Fabrici’s dressmaking provided understated couture, and fleurs des rois composed floral arrangements that felt both classic and fresh. Together we created a refined atmosphere in which emotion could unfold without artifice.
The morning after a restful night in the Napoleon suite, a leisurely brunch arrived on the balcony. Sunlight poured across the table, the Rhein and the city of Basel spread out beyond them. In that perfect conjunction of place and light, José found his moment. He took a breath, asked, and Oliwia answered — Yes.
Those suspended, unspoken moments are the ones I love to photograph: a look, a hand finding another, the quiet release that follows a promise. This session at Les Trois Rois was a delicate, heartfelt chapter in their story — photographed with the care and artistry those moments deserve.
With a full belly and the heart filled with love, they went downstairs to the lobby for a peaceful moment of reading. After a long moment of calm with an exchange of loving glances, José decided to play her favorite song at the piano “Clair de Lune by Debussy”. Oliwia finally joined him for a four hands duo.

In the afternoon, they took a walk in the charming city of Basel. Lovingly lost in the streets… They ended up in the garden in front of the St. Paul’s Church filled with blooming magnolia trees. It was the perfect location for a little improvised dance.
In the evening, after such a breathtaking day, they opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate their union and the upcoming wedding. Then they partied all night long and much more…
And you — what is your dream proposal?
